THE WORST EVENT I HAD EVER HOSTED (LOGAH RAJ A/L JAGANATHAN ALAM019085)

 Of all the events that I have hosted, one of the worst events is my school’s sports day. Being the leader of Red House I was one of the committee members that was incharge of planning this event. Every school organizes sports day once every year. It may seem like a one day event but it requires much effort and long term planning. Sports day consists of events which many schools stage in which students participate in sporting activities. They usually participate to win trophies or prizes. A lot of elementary schools hold sports day annually on their field. Anyhow this event was one of the worst that I have hosted due to some of the mistakes that I made. 

    The preparations usually begin a  month earlier so that students can practice for their select sports and parade practice. As one of the leaders of the houses I was incharge of the prize and certificate.The planning process went well except for the part that I forgot to order the right amount of medals and certificate for the athletes who were going to take part. I should have double checked the number of participants before submitting my order. I only realized on the day of the event that it is not enough. It was an embarrassing moment for me because the teacher was disappointed. As well as the winner of the sports events who received nothing even when got the highest placements. It was a mistake that I couldn't fix as it was too late. 

       Anyhow, one of the teachers was very understanding and helped me by announcing the winner and informing them that the medal will be given soon during the school assembly the following week. Although some parents were not satisfied, we still managed to get through the situation. It felt so meaningless conducting a sports event without giving prizes but it is a lesson for me. Overall I believe that mistakes are a part of learning. That is how I would like to take this event as, although it was a bad experience I was still able to learn something from it.
