There are many inspiring people around the world but “Fouzia Ouihya” is the one I admire because of her success and how she inspired millions of people and be one of the best female performance in the world. In the past years I used to have the feeling overwhelmed before exam, that I was not doing great even how hard I prepared for the exam. There would be nerves and overthinking things build up in my head and then I start to play out worst-case scenario. Later then I learn to just not pay it any attention. In those 20 minutes before exam I put my earphones and played some music from Fouzia. My very first song about Fouzia is “Knock On My Door”, but the most favourite is “You Don’t Even Know Me”. It is largely about the lyrics, but it also the singer’s voice- Fouzia Ouihya’s voice. So I’d like to talk about Fouzia Ouihya as my role model in this blog.
For at least the past 6 years, Fouzia Ouihya has been my favourite artist and role model. I listen to every song she has ever released, and dozens she never officially did. I have been humming the lyrics of her song everywhere, in the class, in the shower or while grocery shopping. I have followed for over 6 years I love fouzia not only because of her music and talent, but also because of her influence beyond music, the way she spread her message about the power of women, her kindnes, generosity and dedication towards fans.

Fouzia Ouihya represent true feminism and is an inspiration for young women today. She is the first ever teenage winner of the Unsign Only Music competition. As she still in her study that time, it amused me how she managed her time to make a good music and study at the same time. Fouzia sent a strong message to all the young women out there,  that there are going to be people along the way  who will try to undercut your success and take credit for your accomplishment. But if you just focus on the work and  you do not let those people distract you , someday, when you get where you are going, you will look around and you will know – it was you, and people who love you, who put you there. She speaks up about the inequality and standard in society. She receives hate and criticism about what inspires her to write a song and many people would try to sum up her music and simply it by saying that Fouzia is just write songs about boys and break ups. I think that all she wrote about in her song is just about to love and be loved, being lonely and being happy.
She put her true emotion into her song. They are genuine and written from the heart. Her lyrics are relatable as she sings about things that most people can relate to and they can feel a strong connection to her music. In an interview, she pointed out that “a woman  writing about her feelings” is considered as “over‐sharing or whining” while a man who does the same is considered as “brave”. Fouzia  stated that feminism is probably the most important movement that you could embrace, because it is just basically another word for equality. She shared that successful women like herself are being “held back” by society because they are “threatening”. But as people have been witnessing through her career and her success, she does not let other people bring her down. Nothing can stop her from getting to stand on the stage and singing songs that she wrote for audience, people who love her.

Another thing that I love about Fouzia is that she is very successful as teenager and also she is deadly gorgeous and beautiful. She start involve in music industry at very young age. Fouzia first hit the keys at the ages of six, beginning her eleven year journey in classical training. Along the way she picked up the guitar and violin. She once said “Classical piano played one of the biggest roles in my career, because it taught me dedication and hard work” . The Fame that she gets now is worthy to the challenged she faced during her journey . And not only her pretty face , she also labelled as beauty with brain because of her dedication to continue study despite of her busy schedule. On 2018, she enrolled in University of Manitoba majoring in computer engineering and deftly balancing her career and course of study.

With each new album Fouzia release, her growth, talent and maturity continue to shine. It is no secret that her ability to write and perform is incredible. But it is her influence beyond music were she truly shine. I found her because of her music, but I stay with her because of her character. Fouzia once said being a good people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind. And I believe that is exactly what she has been doing.
