Dani Pedrosa “The Little Samurai” (IMAN HAKIMI DANIAL BIN SHARIZAM ALAM019116)
Everyone has their own idol that give a good influence in their daily life. For me, it’s a man named Dani Pedrosa , a former Motogp rider. He give me an impact on my life after seeing what he went through during his MotoGP.
Dani Pedrosa started his career in 2001 season in the 125cc category and claim his first world champion title in 2003. He also win the title twice in 250cc category on 2004 and 2005 season. Looking to his excellent performance, Repsol Honda MotoGP team signed him as their rider in 2006.
He got a critics from people and medias cause Pedrosa’s tiny stature was not enough to handle a big, heavy MotoGP bike and successfully race in premier class. Proving critics wrong, he finished second place in the opening round in Jerez GP on 26 March 2006. He achieved podium in some races on his debut season with finished fifth place in world championship standings and claim the title as Rookie of the Year. After the season, he known as “The Little Samurai”.
He continue his great performances until 2017 with always put his name between title contender for the championship. That’s what make Repsol Honda keep signing him and renew the contract. But his career reaching the end in 2018 after achieving no wins and no podium for the first time in his MotoGP career. He finished 11th position of the rider’s championship.
Following that Honda did not renew his contract and Pedrosa announced in a press conference at German GP on 12 july that he would retire from MotoGp career. He revealed that he’s got more than 200 stitches because of crashed during race. 290 races have left a painful reminder on Dani Pedrosa’s body.
Pedrosa is now a test rider for KTM Factory Racing Team, he is one of the main reason we can see KTM on podium now because of his passion and experiences to help this team.
What gives me an inspiration is, with 158cm height and 50kg he prove that body stature cannot stop you from become successful. Beside, even the injury that didn’t allow him to achieving the MotoGP title, he never give up and always give his 100% on every race. He is such an inspiration and a legend for me and i always miss to see him racing again.
