Best event that I host as a programme leader (KHAIRULANAM BIN AZMAN 018911)

The programme team organiser

Life is a roller coaster ride with many ups and downs, bad and good experiences, and joyful and sad phases. But everything that occurs serves as a lesson or guide for us. It is up to us to take each scenario and make it work despite the difficulties and trials. Every person experience events that either break them or make them a better and stronger version of themselves.

It is still fresh in my mind when I was appointed as the President of the Volunteering Club in primary school where the club members and I were requested to organise an activity to support the unfortunate souls out there as part of an annual programme. As a leader, I divided the tasks and conducted some study. After much study, I finally identified an organisation with which we can collaborate. Frankly, this has been a difficult period because this is our first time organising an event without the assistance of the teachers. We've all shed a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to make this event a success. At first, everything went perfectly and as anticipated.

Yet, life isn't always a bed of roses. We just found out one day before the event that we had been duped by the organisation with which we worked. I was at a loss for words as we have spent all of our money on the organisation and have nothing left over. I sat down and began to think for a bit. After some thought, I decided to create a fundraising project to raise some money. I guided my team through the process in the right direction and used my skills to unite my team as a whole. Together, we made sure that everything was properly checked. The restless night we had was something we genuinely enjoyed and will not soon forget.

The event held at MyCare Centre featuring the poor youngster was a great success. We are able to tell them our tales and help them see that there is still potential for them to succeed in the future. The actual occurrence has inspired them to change their life and take a leap of faith. Our school principal congratulated us for preparing the event effectively despite the difficulties we had to face, and the kids praised us for taking the initiative.

Overall, it was one of the best events that I host as a leader as we illuminate the children's worlds. My day was made by their excitement at having their spirits lifted and learning life lessons. Moreover, the incident we had to go through made me recognise how crucial a leader is in an organisation. If anything unexpected happens, a Ieader will need to be self-motivated to motivate the team and get them back on track. In order to convey oneself effectively to others and avoid misconceptions, communication is also crucial for leaders. All in all, a leader needs a wide range of abilities since without them, a leader would just be mediocre, and not great.
